Winter runs

This morning we managed to motivate ourselves to go out and face the snow for a long Sunday morning run. We met up with Meg's cousin Ian and walked down to the canal before actually starting to run! This was all part of the warm up, you understand...

Starting the watch here, we headed down from Kinmylies to Dochgarroch on the towpath, and came back the same way. Sometimes this route can be a bit mundane but today with the snow on the tops of the hills and the autumn colours of the trees, the still water - and the banter - it was a really good run.

It's not often you go out for a run with three of you and everybody has a good day, but it seemed that way today. Back at the Tomnahurich, we headed up behind the old Craig Dunain hospital. That was a nasty hill after the 1hr 9min run (I stopped the watch when we got back to the bridge) but it was a good way to end the route.

The plan at the minute is just to get into some regular running so we can start our 'proper' training after Christmas. Runs like the one today make it much easier to motivate yourself into running more, so hopefully we can keep going!

Our places are now confirmed in the Inverness Half on March 8, too!
