Great North Run
Iain, dad and myself yesterday completed the Great North Run half-marathon, where we were raising money for Christie's. Between us I reckon we've raised over £1500 this year so thanks to everyone who's donated - we all really appreciate it. You can still donate up to December 1, 2006 by visiting my JustGiving page.It was the fourth successive year I've run the Newcastle to South Shields route and I made it in 1:38.05, as did Iain who got his PB when we crossed the line together in true cheesy photo-finish style! Dad was a little further behind ... but he had his excuses!
The weather was hot 'n' sunny again in the north-east, despite the promise of rain so it was hard work getting round in that time. But thankfully the usual head wind along the coast for the final mile was absent this time so our only excuse for the lack of sprint finish was the simple fact we were knackered! But we had a great day again and we'll be back next year for more of the same ... maybe see you there!
