We're in!

Meg and I have got our numbers for the Lochaber marathon next year, as has my brother Iain. I'm either 105 or 106. So there's no getting out of it now! We did a long run yesterday, down the Great Glen Way, over the Ness Islands and along the river, down to the sea lock and back up through Clachnaharry - it took an hour and a quarter or so and, with the cold weather and rain, gave us a taste of what the training might hold in store over the coming winter!

Loch Ness 10k

This is Meg and myself after we finished the Loch Ness 10k in Inverness yesterday. The weather was good - cold and sunny with an occasional shower - and the course was mostly downhill or flat.
I was pleased to finish one second over 44 minutes while Meg did 46.30 or thereabouts. The official results should be on the Loch Ness Marathon and Featival of Running website.
Now we are going to start preparing for our spring marathon by building up our regular runs between now and Christmas. We've both done one marathon before - in Edinburgh last year - and we've learned a few things we could do better as far as training goes.
The Loch Ness 10k got us back in the spirit and the training will help us through those dark winter nights in the Highlands!
